Care Instructions for Kiyomizu Ware

Please note the following instructions for use and care:

• This product is fragile. Please handle it with care.

• The surface has a crackle glaze. Over time, tea stains will gradually seep into the fine cracks, creating a unique appearance and character. As the piece is hand-finished with a thin glaze, moisture may also seep through from the unglazed base.

• If you wish to prevent staining from the crackle glaze, or if you are concerned about moisture seeping through, fill the piece with rice water before use and leave it for approximately 6 hours. This will help prevent tea and other stains from penetrating the surface.

• After use, please allow the piece to dry thoroughly before storing it.

• As each piece is handmade and hand-painted, slight variations in appearance are to be expected.
